History of CMFI Miracle Center

Christian Missionary Fellowship International (CMFI) is an international missionary organization of churches found in about sixty nations today. It was originally founded by Dr. Zacharias Tanee Fomum who was the apostolic leader of the Ministry. CMFI trains missionaries in various parts of the world and sends them out to different nations. There are currently over ten thousand CMFI churches around the globe. God has raised dynamic ministers to work in CMFI. The vision was born due to a simple act of obedience to the command of the Lord Jesus, to go to the whole world and preach the gospel to all creation. CMFI Cameroon, which is the core of the ministry, has a publishing department, where books and tracts are produced. It also has a bible school, bible correspondence course, christian radio project, music production department and other sub-departments.

The Christian Missionary Fellowship International (CMFI) church of Westminster, MD was founded in March of 2002. The founding Pastor Robinson Fondong, who is a Missionary himself, started by preaching the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to a young man called Andrew Haines. Andrew was lost and struggling with his belief system when he put his faith in God. By the Lord's working a change took place in his life and he is continually being transformed to be more like Jesus The victory of Jesus over these strongholds led to a mighty stirring both in his family and the society around.

When Brother Andrew got saved, he and pastor Fondong started meeting at his home. The Lord blessed the young fellowship abundantly and a few others from the Baltimore and Silver Spring area joined the fellowship. The number of the believers continued to grow and in November 2004, the church rented a hall at 73A East Main Street Westminster MD. The new church had only ten members then and the hall at 73A East Main Street could take only thirty-five people at a time, and in less than one year the hall became too small as the number rose to more than forty. The hall became so small that many members were standing outside to allow newcomers in. CMFI Westminster was growing faster than the hall could carry. During this period, CMFI contacted the Westminster Rescue Mission for permission to rent their chapel. An agreement was reached for CMFI to use the Mission’s chapel for Sunday worship. CMFI moved the Sunday worship to the Westminster Rescue Mission, and the church has grown to about ninety-five members with an average of sixty to seventy-five people attending each week.

Just before CMFI moved to the Rescue Mission, the Lord brought Pastor Mark Wadel to join the leadership. Pastor Fondong was now co-pastor with Pastor Mark Wadel. Pastor Wadel was soon discovered to be a dynamic man of God with a zeal for the Kingdom of God. He had been an ordained minister for over 30 years. Thanks to Pastor Wadel, CMFI now belongs to an association of churches with Franklin Mennonite Conference. CMFI was founded on God's word: the whole Bible and the message of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ are the theme of the church. The Holy Spirit is honored and welcome in our services. We believe that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. We also know that God the father has supreme authority, His Lordship is unquestionable.

Pastor Robinson Fondong, the founding Pastor became a full-time pastor in November 2005. Prior to this time, he served on a part-time basis, since he was working full-time in another company. He had an experience while working at the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office that transformed his life. One day, during a tour of the most dangerous criminal section, a man who was detained for killing his girlfriend, recognized him as a servant of God. Pastor Fondong was really surprised because this man had never met him before. When Pastor Fondong inquired as to how he recognized him as a Minister, he said he is a satanist, and that demons told him that he (Pastor Robinson) was a minister of the gospel. The pastor ministered to him, while the man wept, confessing his sins, and saying that he is bound and needs help. As Pastor Fondong walked away the Lord spoke to him and told him that, the reason why God allowed this satanist to recognize him is because He wants to use him to set people free before they get to jail. The Lord said, he was called for such people who are in need of the mercy of God, to win them so that they will never commit such crimes, and will never have to be detained. Pastor Robinson has therefore committed his life to the pursuit of the Lord and the people for whom the Lord Jesus died. CMFI also shares this vision of ministry to the lost.

Pastor Robinson and his team believe in an apostolic work that will plant churches all over the United States. Presently CMFI is found in six states. Their goal is to win the lost and to bring them to the Kingdom of God. They desire to reach the drug addicts, the homeless, the abandoned and all those in need of God's mercy. They want the whole world to know that Jesus loves them.

To you who may be reading this, we want you to know that someone died for your sins. You do not need to bear your sins any longer. There is hope for your life. If you were the only sinner, Christ would have still died for you. There is no pit too deep for Him to reach you. The simple message of the gospel is that God loves you and wants to save you. “For God so loved the whole world that He gave His only Begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). We hope to be a blessing to you. If we could be a blessing in any way, let us know. May the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ bless you abundantly! May His Glory always rest on you! May the Lord bless and keep you, may His face shine on you and give you peace!
